18th At SALERNO (Invasion Exercise) - From LST1 War Diary - Underway at 08:37 from anchorage in the Gulf of Salerno in company with LST351, LST326, LST381, HMS LST63 and HMS LST33 with HMS TETCOTT as convoy commander. Steaming at various courses and speeds in preparation for invasion exercises. At 14:00 held General Quarters drill and loading drill with army personal for small boats. Held another drill at 17:00.

21st SALERNO to SHINGLE BEACH for ANZIO INVASION - Our third invasion – where our task was to lead minesweepers in close to the beach to sweep the assault anchorage before the merchant ships arrived. We expected, but did not meet, attack from shore batteries and the actual landing was achieved without much opposition - Deployed under overall US Navy command and sailed as part of Force X
